Gather with Believers: a quick How-to
Gathering with other believers MATTERS.
Even if you're praying and reading your bible every day, something is missing.
Don't skip this step! It's so important.
Step 1. Find and attend a church.
Yes, this can be (and probably will be) mentally and emotionally exhausting. Especially if you've been burned by churches or church relationships before. Or if you have limited church options in your area. But it's worth it to find a place to worship with other believers. It’s okay to look around for a while, try different places until you find one that fits. Remember that churches are made up of people, and all people are sinners, so we’re going to mess up. Pray for God to lead you to the place He wants you to be. Be ready to extend grace and forgiveness to people once you get there--and that those things will be given to you in return.
Step 2. Get involved with a smaller group of believers in a more intimate setting.
This can be associated with your church, or it can be a completely different set of people. You can meet at a home, or a community center, or other public space (even a park!). But make sure you're worshipping together, praying together, reading your bible together, learning together, caring for one another in the ways that Jesus taught. This is how the early churches did it, and it’s one of the things they were getting right.
Step 3. Go out into your community with your fellow believers and minister to others.
You can do this with your church group or your smaller group. Go out to public spaces, offer to pray for people, meet needs (food, clothes), and have your acts of worship be caring for others. Find a charity organization to support as a group. Go out into your neighborhood and show them God’s love.
